HOW TO CALCULATE THE QUANTITY of HS Concentrate needed- HS Concentrate is mixed 1-part to 9-parts water. Millings will typically require 1 gallon of HS Solution per square yard. For Millings (RAP)- Multiply the width times the length of your project (Example- ( 100 by 12 = 1,200 square feet.) Divide 1,200 sq/ft by 9 = to obtain number of Square Yards- ( 1,200/9 = 133.3 sq/yds) Divide sq/yards by 10 for gallons of concentrate needed. ( 133.3/10= 13.3 gallons) of HS concentrate needed. 13.3 gallons Would require purchase of 3 pails (15) Gallons of Concentrate which would make 150 gallons of HS Solution. FOR PRESERVING and SEALING EXISTING ASPHALT - Typically asphalt pavement will absorb .35 to .42 gallons per square yard depending on condition of asphalt. Divide number of gallons as calculated above by .35 Example - 13.3 gallons divided by .35 = 3.8 gallons which will require purchasing 1- 5-gallon pail which would make 50 gallons of HS Solution and cover and average of 143 square yards. |
